In partnership with community-based organizations and national online education providers, NSU provides lifelong learning opportunities for the public. Courses and workshops are informed by best practices for education and training and offered online and in-person.
Master of Public Health
NSU’s joint MPH program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and equity-centered lens needed to address the most pressing public health challenges facing Hampton Roads, Virginia and beyond.
Professional Education
NSU partners with local health departments, health care systems, community-based organizations and others to enhance or equip the public health workforce with skills, credentials, and confidence to meet the field’s evolving demands. Through flexible, non-credit courses, workshops, and certification training, we help practitioners, supervisors, and emerging professionals build practical, real-world capacity.
The Joint School of Public Health at ODU and NSU
The Joint School of Public Health at ODU and NSU (JSPH) brings a unique focus on public health academics and practice and multi-institution partnerships to Hampton Roads and makes NSU only the second HBCU in the nation to be part of a school of public health.
